Labor Day weekend is now over. The CAL Bears won their Season opener! I invited my friend Diane to Monterey, CA for her Birthday and spent most of the day at the Aquarium. The weather was great, not too hot. On Labor Day I finished reading "Life's Healing Choices: Freedom from your hurts hang-ups and habits."
Written by Pastor John Baker (pastor at Saddleback Church in Southern California).
It empathises on the eight principals, based on the Beatitudes Found in Matthew 5.
Principal one: Realize I am Not God, I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable.
" Blessed are the poor in spirit." Matt 5:3
Principal Two: Earnestly believe that God exist, that I matter to him and he has the power to help me recover.
"Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted ." Matt 5:4
Principal Three: Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control.
"Blessed are the meek." Matt 5:5
Principal Four: Openly examine and confess my faults to myself and God And to someone I trust.
"Blessed are the pure in heart ." Matt 5:8
Principal Five: Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life and humbly ask him to remove my character defects.
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness." Matt 5:6
Principal Six: Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I've done to others, except when to do so would harm them or others.
"Blessed are the merciful." Matt 5:7
"Blessed are the peacemakers." Matt 5: 9
Principal Seven: Reserve a Daily Time with God for self examination, bible reading and prayer in order to know God and His Will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will.
Principal Eight: Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others both by example and my words.
