7 months of Sobriety- CONNECTION TO MY GOD AND MY FAMILY.

Jan 15, 2009 marks 7 months of my sobriety and starting Celebrate Recovery. Our Lord Jesus Christ works through us in mysterious ways and for reasons we do not yet understand. I have two children, names Shaunee and Victor (pictured to the right of the screen.) ages 15 and 13.

During my darkest days my relationship with my children has not been the very best nor the worst. I been divorced for 10 years, my children living with their mother over 150 miles away from me.

My God, My Lord strengthens me: Philippians 4:13 " I can do everything through him who gives me strength."

In the past ten years I lived a life of sin, worked two full time jobs, tried to live on my own in another state, only to fall deeper in debt, and eventually walked the "suicidal path" of destruction. It was my God through a friend that saved me from that destruction. Since than I put my life before my Lord, my Savior Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 41:10 " So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God."

The prophet Isaiah reminds that Our Lord is always with us and we should turn to him for comfort. As St. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 The God of all comfort. " Praise be to the God and Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we are ourselves have received from God."

Not only does God comfort me in my troubles he also gives me the strength to comfort those in "ANY TROUBLE" (Key words). All comfort comes through God.

So by doing the simplest thing laying off the Alcohol, My anxiety, my depression and my worries went away. In it's place was the transformation of improving my overall health, my relationship my children, and strengthen my relationships with co-workers and friends. A GOOD TRADE OFF!

For those who are struggling there is hope, don't give up, turn to our Lord for help, pray to Him, seek counsel, and open your mind. Romans 12:2 " Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by renewing of your mind."

Pray to him: Join a bible study at your church. Matthew 18: 19-20 " Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

GOD BLESS
Tim Kyle
